 The Barbara and Dennis Marion Family Charitable Foundation (Marion Family Foundation) is dedicated to supporting a diverse range of causes that reflect the values that Barbara and Dennis Marion have championed throughout their lives. With a commitment to compassion and community, the foundation supports initiatives that make a lasting, positive impact.


Through grants and partnerships, the foundation furthers Barbara and Dennis’s shared vision by supporting organizations focused on children’s well-being, education, the arts, healthcare, and environmental conservation, among others. The foundation’s mission is to empower organizations that advance solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges and create meaningful change.

 Foundation staff will review submitted proposals from April 1 to June 30.

 After the review process, foundation staff may reach out for additional questions and, in many cases, will schedule site visits (either virtual or in-person) to further discuss the proposals.

 Grant decisions will be announced on November 15, and funds will be disbursed by the end of the calendar year. 

To apply for a grant, please submit a proposal packet by email to info@marionfamilyfoundation.org as a single PDF file. Please name your file "Organization Name - Date." 


Note: Submissions that do not follow this convention will not be considered for funding. 


The Marion Family Foundation primarily considers organizations in the NYC tri-state area but will review proposals on a national basis. 


Proposals are accepted annually from January 1 to March 31.


Your proposal packet should include:


  1. Cover Letter
    Briefly introduce your organization and the project for which funding is requested.
  2. Project Proposal
    Outline the project in no more than 4 pages, including objectives, target audience and community impact, and timeline and expected outcomes. 
  3. 501(c)(3) Determination Letter
    Provide proof of your organization’s tax-exempt status.
  4. Operating Budget
    Include your organization’s overall budget for the current fiscal year.
  5. Project Budget
    Detail the budget specific to the proposed project, indicating how requested funds will be allocated.
  6. Additional Supporting Documents (Optional)
    Attach any other materials that demonstrate the impact or importance of your project.
  7. Final Report (Current Grantees Only)
    In order to be eligible for renewed funding, current grantees must submit a final report, not exceeding 2 pages, describing how the grant funds were used and the project’s impact.
